How Much Water Should I Drink?
There is no set limit of how much water each person should drink. However, USGS says an adult male needs about 3 liters (3.2 quarts) per day while an adult female needs about 2.2 liters (2.3 quarts) per day. A general rule for drinking water; take frequent sips throughout the day. All water does not have to be from consuming liquid. Water exists abundantly in fruits and vegetables.
What Are Signs of Dehydration?
There are several indicators the body gives when it is low on water. The indicators can be but not limited to the following:
Dark yellow or orange pee
Strong urine odor
When the body is low on water it is closer to dehydration. Dehydration is a condition caused by excessive loss of fluid in the body. When more fluid is lost than consumed, dehydration can occur.
Tips For Drinking More Water
Drinking water should occur frequently throughout the day and there are ways to create this habit. The following can assist in drinking more water:
Carry a water bottle
Drink water with every meal
Eat more plants
Choose water over sugary beverages
Add fruit to water
Set a daily goal
